Introduced By :  Andhra Pradesh State Government

Purpose : Providing financial support to daughter’s marriage

Beneficiaries :  Backward classes, scheduled castes( SCs ), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and minority communities.

Eligibility Criteria for (Bride) & (Groom)

Residency: The bride must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh

Education: Both groom and bride should complete their 10th grade education

Economic status: The brides family must belongs to the below poverty Line ( BPL ) category.

Age: The bride must be at least 18 years old ,and the groom must be at least 21 year old.

Community: The scheme is primarily focuses on brides from backward classes, SCs, STs, and minority communities.

First Marriage : The scheme is applicable only for the bride’s first marriage.

• No one in the bride’s family should be an income taxpayer.
• The families of both the bride and groom should earn below  INR 10,000 a year if they live in rural areas or INR 12,000 if they live in urban areas.
• Their families should not own a four-wheeler vehicle, except for a taxi or tractor.

Required Documents

The required documents for applying to the Chandranna Pelli Kanuka scheme 2024:

Aadhar card: For both the bride and groom as proof of identity.

Caste certificate: To confirm the bride’s community, especially if she belongs to a backward class, SC, ST, or minority group.

BPL( below poverty line) card: To prove the family’s economic status.

Age proof: Birth certificate, school leaving certificate, or any other document showing the ages of both the bride 18 years and groom 21 years and above.

Marriage certificate: If the marriage has already taken place, or a marriage invitation card if applying before the wedding.

Bank passbook: A copy of the bride’s bank passbook to ensure the financial assistance is deposited into the correct account

Residency proof: Documents like a ration card or voter ID to confirm the bride’s residency in Andhra Pradesh.

Chandranna Pelli Kanuka Scheme 2024 Working Process

Step 1: 30 days after marriage, the bride and groom must apply for the Scheme by going to the DA/WEDPS in the Secretariat, or they should complete the application on the official website.

Step 2: WEA/WWDS will get both the online and hard copy application forms.

Step 3: The bride, bridegroom and bride’s mother’s KYC will be completed by the WEA/WWDS, along with field verification and the uploading of the required paperwork.

Step 4: The application will be sent to MPDO/MC following WEA/WWDS verification.

Step 5: Every document and observation made by WEA/WWDS will be verified by the MPDO/MC. Following proper verification, the application will be forwarded to PD-DRDA by MPDO/MC.

Step 6: After confirming the documentation, the PD-DRDA will forward the application for the six-step validation.

6 step validation

• Following the six-step validation process, the application form and the applicants will be forwarded to the district collector’s office.
• Once the District Collectors have given their permission, the application will be sent to the related State Welfare Corporations.
• When applicable, the corresponding Corporations will handle payment to the bride’s moms.
